TORU is a Wellington based harp trio formed in 2015 comprised of principal players of Orchestra Wellington Karen Batten (flute), Sophia Acheson (viola) and Ingrid Beach (harp). 

For this lunchtime concert TORU will be showcasing a cleverly arranged Serenade by Beethoven, and Debussy's impressionistic Sonate en trio. This Sonate was the first major work to fully exploit the timbre of this diverse instrumentation and inspired many other composers to write for it thereafter.
