Roy Zhang’s recital will feature pieces by Haydn, Chopin, Scriabin, Debussy, and Rachmaninoff.

Roy is a 17-year-old pianist who started learning the piano at the age of 4. He first started learning the piano with Neville Baird and now learns with Michael Endres. He has completed his ATCL and LTCL diplomas for piano and has taken part in many competitions, including the NZCT chamber contest where his chamber group made it to National Semi-finals in 2021. Roy also made it to the Semi-finals of the NZ Junior Piano Competition in 2020 and is currently in the finals round of the 2023 American Virtuoso International Music Competition for chamber music. Apart from playing the piano, he is also involved in the school orchestra where he plays the violin.
