Irish soprano Orla Boylan presents a voice masterclass with Canterbury singers.
Orla Boylan is in New Zealand to play the title role in New Zealand Opera’s Tosca, alongside Simon O’Neill and Teddy Tahu Rhodes.
Orla has recently made a number of important debuts including the roles of Gutrune (Götterdämmerung) for Opera North and Chrysothemis (Elektra) for West Australian Opera as well as her house debut at Teatro alla Scala in Giorgio Batistelli’s new commission CO₂. Her thrilling performance as Senta (Der fliegende Holländer) - where she “commands the stage with her magnificent performance” (The Listener) - brought her notable international success in recent seasons both on stage and in concert.
We invite you to join Orla and singers, accompanied by Sharolyn Kimmorley, as she shares her knowledge and experience with singers and supporters. Meet Orla and join us for a glass of wine in the Atrium following the master class. Supporters, singers and teachers will all enjoy this fascinating and insightful event.
