Presented by The Cavell Leitch New Zealand International Jazz & Blues Festival 2018
Internationally celebrated musicians, Nathan Haines and Jonathan Crayford join forces in a collaborative re-working of the Adagio form - mixing elements of modern improvised electronic music with the compositions of classical composers.
By re-arranging and re-forming works by Stravinsky, Samuel Barber, Bach and more, Crayford (piano/ keyboards) and Haines (woodwinds/ electronics), blur the lines between live performance, theatre and classical and improvised musical forms.
Both prolific recording artists and multiple recipients of New Zealand's Best Jazz Album of the Year, Haines and Crayford have played at the most famous jazz clubs in the United States and Europe. Enjoy the journey as they experiment with their own signature sounds.
