Hear from all major political parties about their plans to protect freshwater and deal with the escalating crisis hitting our lakes, rivers and aquifers, and threatening our drinking water.
So far, no government has done enough to protect freshwater from pollution. That has to change, and quickly, to protect the health of our communities and the environment. This debate offers us the opportunity to hear from all political parties on their plans to address the freshwater crisis. How can we best protect the water we drink, the lakes we swim in, and the rivers we take kai from? Join us, as we head into the last few weeks before the election.
The debate will be moderated by senior Newsroom journalist, David Williams. An expert panel including Greenpeace Executive Director, Dr Russel Norman; Gabrielle Huria of Ngāi Tahu; Chair of Irrigation NZ, Andrew Mockford; and freshwater scientist and public health policy researcher Marnie Prickett, will comment on the political positions.
The debate is being organised by Greenpeace. The event is free, but seats are limited so book now.
