Described as a “sensitive guide, travelling effortlessly from chiming virtuosity to chiselled hush” (NZ Herald), Modi Deng is a pianist and writer from Aotearoa NZ. Winner of both the 2018 National Concerto Competition, and Royal Overseas-League Arts Scholarship, Modi has gone on to shape an exciting and varied career in NZ, UK and Australia including appearances at Wigmore Hall, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with esteemed artists Adrian Brendel (cello) and Mattthew Rawcliffe (dancer). Modi studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London under Professor Joanna MacGregor. Her teachers include Rae de Lisle, Stephen De Pledge and Tom McGrath.
