‘Something old, something new, something borrowed – our debut!’
Award-winning local chamber music ensemble Morton Trio celebrate the release of their self-titled debut album with not one but two Brahms horn trios.
Featuring his iconic Horn Trio in Eb Major op. 40, the album also includes Brahms’ Piano Trio in B Major op. 8, arranged by trio violinist Arna Morton, alongside her brand-new composition for the ensemble, Summer.
Composed of husband and wife duo, Alex and Arna Morton, and pianist Liam Wooding, Morton Trio has been delighting and engaging audiences with charismatic performances throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and abroad for close to eight years.
The evening celebrations include a performance from the trio featuring highlights from the album, a conversation led by MC Dr. Hannah Darroch, and a post-concert catered function. Attendees will also receive a free drink on arrival, a goody bag, and a signed album (applicable ticket holders only), with extra albums & beverages available for purchase on the night.
We gratefully acknowledge the support of The Piano and Creative New Zealand in making this event possible.
