Toi Toi Opera presents an evening opera masterclass with celebrated Aotearoa NZ bass Jonathan Lemalu at The Piano, Christchurch, proudly supported by The Piano's Emerging Artist Fund.

Five early-career opera singers from Waitaha Canterbury will have the opportunity to perform on the stage of The Philip Carter Family Concert Hall, accompanied by Toi Toi Opera's Associate Principal Répétiteur Alison Holden, and to receive expert feedback from Jonathan, who has recently become Deputy Head of Vocal and Opera at the Royal College of Music in London.

We are delighted to announce that the young singers working with Jonathan on the night are sopranos Elizabeth Ellison, Erin Connelly-Whyte, and Holly Evans, tenor Steven Moseley, and bass Kahu Gray.

We welcome voice students, teachers, and opera lovers alike to come and observe this very special evening.

We are deeply grateful to Jonathan for contributing his time, and also to The Piano's Emerging Artist Fund for subsidising our venue cost, to allow these singers to learn under concert conditions.

Free entry, but early registration is recommended to ensure your seat. Your donation/koha is appreciated, with all proceeds going to Toi Toi Opera and The Piano's Emerging Artist Fund.
