The Piano presents 'Play it Forward'. Ōtautahi artists perform in support of the Next Generation Fund.
We’re creating a fund to cover the cost of 1,000 young people to attend concerts at The Piano throughout the year.
Please, come join us for a Play it Forward concert and help us to engage our rangatahi in the musical arts! To learn more, email support@thepiano.nz or visit thepiano.nz/next-generation-fund
"I’ve been writing songs and instrumental pieces for the guitar for over 50 years but seldom have I played a complete concert of my own music. The Piano has given me that opportunity, which I greatly appreciate.
The guitar has been my constant companion, the vehicle through which I have been able to express my life’s journey and each song has evolved through personal experience.
‘Speed of Love’ is the title track of one of my albums and expresses my desire to live a life that is in balance, not moving too slow or too fast. It sums up the overall feeling of the concert.
My repertoire will include an instrumental, ‘Love Lives On’, which I composed for a ceremony held for the families of the Christchurch Earthquake victims, ‘The Cafe On the Corner’, ‘Signs of Spring’, ‘Occasionally’ which was runner-up in the APRA Silver Scroll Awards some years ago along with other songs and compositions that have been well received over the years.
I look forward to sharing my music with you." - Graham Wardrop
