Anya Fang is currently a Year 12 Music and Academic scholar at Rangi Ruru Girls’ School. Starting to learn piano at the age of 5, Anya had studied with Sun Yi, Neville Baird, Melanie Lina and now has been under the tutelage of Michael Endres. In 2017, Anya was awarded the ABRSM High Scorer Cup (Grade 4 Piano) and in 2021, she was awarded the Under-18 Scholarship Cup in the Christchurch Competitions. In 2022, Anya achieved ATCL with distinction on piano, and then ATCL on violin in 2023. In the National concerto competitions in 2024, Anya was selected for the semi-finals. This year Anya has been offered the Junior Pettman music scholarship. Involved in many musical groups including orchestra, chamber music, choir, production orchestra, and jazz band, Anya also enjoys spending time with her brother, Will and biking around Christchurch.
