When Life Sucks: Teen Mental Health

Time & Date
23rd September 2023
8:30 - 9:15pm
Venue
The Philip Carter Family Concert Hall

FREE ticketed event.

When Life Sucks - Supporting your teen through common mental health challenges - a conversation with book author Dr Jo Prendergast (psychiatrist, comedian, parent) - hosted by Hilary Muir from The Breeze.

As a parent and psychiatrist, Dr Jo knows how hard it can be - especially if a teen communicates only in eye rolls and grunts!

At this FREE ticketed event, Dr Jo will discuss many of the topics covered in her new book When Life Sucks - everything from anxiety, depression, trauma and eating difficulties, to understanding neurodivergence and gender identity. It's not easy being a parent in a world of TikTok and bubble gum flavoured vapes, but Dr Jo will give you some practical tools to help make your life a little lighter and to support your teen towards a healthy headspace.

When Life Sucks is an essential guide to supporting your teen’s mental health.

Books will be available to purchase and have signed at the event.

*From 7-8 pm at the same venue Dr Jo's comedy persona Jo Ghastly will be performing her award-winning one-woman show about parenting teens - The Cool Mum. The comedy show is suitable for teens to Boomers - mild adult themes*.
