Te Koki Trio at The Piano
3:00 - 4:30pm
Te Koki Trio plays Brahms, Dorman and Shostakovich
Martin Riseley (violin), Inbal Megiddo (cello) and Jian Liu
(piano) are all senior faculty in classical performance at the New Zealand
School of Music. They individually have extensive careers as professional
musicians both nationally and internationally. As a trio, they regularly
perform throughout New Zealand, as well as in Australia, Singapore and Kuala
Lumpur. A Middle-C review of their last performance for Sunday Concerts called
it “a mighty concert experience – here were three musicians bent upon drawing
all that they could out of the music and of themselves, resulting in
performances of great excitement and intensity”.
Programme:
Johannes Brahms | Piano Trio in C minor Op. 101
Avner Dorman | Piano Trio No. 2 (Christchurch premiere)
Dmitri Shostakovich | Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor Op.6
