Soprano Claire Filer returns from the UK to join baritone and pianist Timothy Burrell and pianist Kyle Hsieh in a moving programme of well-known operatic arias, art songs, Scottish folk songs and musical theatre hits.

Soprano Claire Filer was born in Auckland, and is currently based in the UK. She holds a Master of Arts with Distinction from the Wales International Academy of Voice in Cardiff, a Master of Music from The Boston Conservatory in the US and a Bachelor of Music with first class honours from The University of Auckland in New Zealand.

A mezzo-soprano until summer 2019, Claire’s operatic engagements have included the roles of Dido Dido & Aeneas (Kentish Opera, West Sussex Opera, The Boston Conservatory), Carmen (cover) Carmen (Kentish Opera), Dorabella Così fan tutte (Birgitta Festival – Tallinn, Estonia; The Black Cat Opera Company, West Sussex Opera), 2nd Witch Macbeth (Iford Arts), Angelina La Cenerentola (Woodhouse Opera Festival), Hansel Hansel & Gretel (Carshalton Opera).

Timothy's singing journey began when he joined the Auckland Boys' Choir at age 9. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music in singing from the University of Waikato in 2012. He then lived in Vienna for two years to further his vocal education. He has presented two recitals on Waiheke Island (2019) and in Greymouth (2021) with pianist Rosemary Barnes. He has won multiple prizes in competitions, most notably the Senior Vocal Championship at the North Shore Performing Arts Competitions in 2018. Timothy was a member of Opera Factory (Auckland) from 2016 to 2019. The highlight of his time with the Company was the role of Marco (Gianni Schicchi, Puccini, English version).
