Jason Bae - Live-stream Performance

South Korean-born New Zealander Steinway Artist, Jason Bae is back in New Zealand. Since his last recital here at “The Piano” in 2018, 5 months later, Jason was the first New Zealander ever to perform for the HRH Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex of United Kingdom at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. This year, Jason has been selected as the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra Fellowship Programme Conductor and as an “Artist Teacher for Piano” at School of Music, University of Auckland hence he will be residing in New Zealand this year.
This recital is dedicated to all frontline medical doctors and essential workers in New Zealand who had to work everyday during the nationwide lockdown to keep New Zealanders safe at home. Also, due to the ongoing Covid-19, this recital will be closed to the public but live-streamed instead.
Jason was born in Daejeon, South Korea in 1991. As a pianist, at the age of twelve, he made his concerto debut with Auckland Symphony Orchestra and a year later he was the youngest concerto soloist to perform with Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. Since then, Jason has performed as a concerto soloist with New Zealand National Youth Symphony, Queensland Symphony Orchestra of Australia, Auckland Youth Symphony, Christchurch Symphony, Bach Musica NZ and Gooden.semble in London. As a recitalist, he has given recitals in U.K (King’s Place, Royal Academy of Music, Royal Academy of Arts, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, St. James’ Piccadilly, Steinway Hall), U.S.A (Carnegie Hall), Finland, France, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
Jason is an official Steinway Artist since 2016 and he was appointed as the Associate Fellow of Royal Commonwealth Society awarded by the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust in 2015.
