Come to The Piano for two hours of music featuring three up-and-coming Christchurch acts; James Constable, Courtney Allison, and Madeleine Howard!
James Constable is a singer/songwriter from Rangiora. He has already released an EP and a single on Spotify, and his new single ‘Maria, Let Him Go’ is due for release in early August. He has made quite the splash in the Christchurch music scene over the past 18 months thanks to his Smiths and Beatles inspired originals, and he has also seen songwriting success on the national stage, as the winner of the Hookline and Singalong songwriting competition in 2018.
Courtney Allison has been performing since age 13 and writing since even younger. Courtney has grown up telling her story on stage, singing songs driven by introspection and honesty. She has already collated five of these songs into an EP titled ‘Moving Pieces’, and she currently has a full-length album in the works. She is influenced by artists such as Matt Maeson, Brandon Barrie, and Brook Fraser.
Madeliene Howard is a relatively new face on the scene, but she has already seen major successes with her debut single ‘No More’, which was selected as part of NZ On Air’s New Tracks promotion in May 2020, and her cover of Ladyhawke’s ‘My Delirium’. Right from a young age, pop artist Madeleine Howard has been influenced by New Zealand’s talented female musicians. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Brooke Fraser, Anika Moa, and Bic Runga, Madeleine has worked hard to develop her own unique and undeniably distinctive Kiwi sound.
Come see these artists live on stage before they take over the world!
